Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker are well known for their acting skills. But the couple is moving into a new genre with their brand new daily talk show, The Boris and Nicole Show.

“We’re having a ball,” says Parker.

“We met on a set. so we’re used to spending a lot of time around each other,” says Kodjoe. We like each other. We actually like each other. We make each other laugh and bring out the best in each other. It’s so much fun to connect with people and talk about the things people like to talk about. ”

The two met on the set of the Showtime series Soul Food which was initially based on the movie of the same title. The show introduced Boris and Nicole to each other as well as the world and they fell in love on and off the set. Though the series made its debut 15 years ago, people still love it and during its 5 season-run it was the highest rated show on the network. So, will there be a reunion of the cast on The Boris and Nicole Show? (There was one a few years ago on BET on The Mo’Nique Show.)

“Ooooh…” Kodjoe and Parker say.

Well, guess you’ll have to keep watching to find out. But you don’t have to watch very long to see that the couple still has great chemistry together. But they’re still learning things about each other.

“I had no idea my husband talked this much,” Parker says. “He doesn’t say anything to me at home, then we get a talk show and he’s Tom Joyner!”

“I don’t get paid [to talk] at home,” Kodjoe says.

The show got started this week, but the couple won’t know if they are picked up for a full-season run until later this summer.

“It’s a new set of muscles for us,” Parker says. “We’ve always been on the other side of the couch and to have it all on your shoulders and your energy and your authentic personality…we were told from the very beginning the reason good shows last is that they are their authentic selves.”
