Fox’s “Empire” isn’t just on top of the TV ratings, it’s music is also topping the charts. The soundtrack from the hip-hop drama series has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 after banking 130-thousand sales in its first week in stores. “Empire” beat out the debut of Madonna’s latest album, “Rebel Heart.” That record moved 121-thousand copies to grab the number two spot. The “Empire” soundtrack is the first TV soundtrack to land at number one since 2010, when “Glee: The Music, Journey to Regionals” topped the chart. The “Empire” soundtrack features appearances from Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Juicy J, Rita Ora and Courtney Love. “Empire” cast members Terrence Howard, Jussie Smollett and Bryshere Gray also perform on the album.

The first season finale of “Empire” airs Wednesday at 8:00 pm Eastern on Fox.
