It’s no surprise: Americans are stressed out. According to the American Psychological Association, more than 20 percent of us report extreme stress (that’s defined as an 8, 9 or 10 on a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is little to no stress and 10 is a great deal of stress).

Ideally, that stress would melt away as we celebrate Valentine’s Day later this week — but the truth is, Feb. 14 can add to the stress on our plates, as we seek out the perfect partner, the perfect date, the perfect gift, the perfect moment.
