Former White House chief economist Alan Krueger is dead of suicide.  He was 58 years old.  His family has confirmed the death, but their statement doesn’t reveal how he died or when it happened.  Krueger was an adviser for both President Barack Obama and President Bill Clinton.  He was also an economics professor at Princeton.   Former President Obama said Krueger was a brilliant economist and a dear friend.  He also remarked that Krueger didn’t see economic policy as just a matter of numbers, but as a way to make people’s lives better.
