David Siegel was the topic of much conversation when he sent an email to his employeesto tell them if they voted for
Obama, they’d lose their job.
Well, not only does it look like he’s he had a change of heart, the anti-Obama real estate mogul gave his employees an average of a 5 percent raise!
Susan Berfield of Bloomberg Business Week asked Siegel if he would lay off any of his employees now that Obama has won. He said:
I don’t know. I’m going to work my hardest to keep the company going and expand the best I can. We’ll see what happens. Meanwhile I gave everybody in the company a raise this week—the average was 5 percent. I wanted to help them handle the additional burdens the government will put on them.
While there’s obviously some shade thrown, it’s nice to see he didn’t fire anyone because of their political beliefs.
