While Tyler Perry’s success often speaks for itself (he’s written several successful movies, #6 on Forbes’ richest celebrities and topped Forbes’ most wealthy men in entertainment list..He’s worth about $130 million), he is frequently criticized for the decisions he has made. One being casting Kim Kardashian in his upcoming movie The Marriage Counselor.
He told Essence Magazine he chose Kardashian after a producer recommended her because of her large fan base. “My hand to God, I didn’t know who she was,” he said.
Perry reassured fans that he still understands his following despite casting the controversial reality star.
“I know my audience is 2 years old to 80,” he said. “I know they cross all classes and races.”
And there you have it :)
Sources say Kardashian is outstanding in the movie so may Perry really does know best. After all, he cast Bobbi Kristina on TBS’ “For Better or Worse” and she’s actually pretty good.
The Marriage Counselor is scheduled to hit theaters next March.
