Grammy Award-winner Maxwell is kicking off the new year with a new single !

Following the success of “Pretty Wings” and “Bad Habits,” Maxwell has enlisted Hip Hop star Nas for what he calls one of the “dirtiest records” he’s ever made.

“It’s all about being a humanitarian,” Maxwell tells VIBE. “It’s probably one of the dirtiest records, in terms of sound, that I ever made; there’s a blues-gospel feel to it.”

Titled “Help Somebody,” Maxwell’s new single and Nas featured remix takes on activism and the willingness to give.

Singing “Help me to be the helping hand that makes a dream come true,” Maxwell later diggs into the relational aspect of giving, belting “help me to give myself, the way that you’ve given you”.

Taken from his 2009 effort “Blacksummers’night,” “Help Somebody” comes just as Maxwell preps for a busy January. As previously reported, the soulful singer has been nominated for a strong six Grammy Awards

He joins Beyonce, Keri Hilson and Pleasure P, as R&B related frontrunners at the Grammys, which air January 31 on CBS.
