A new study is linking belly fat to shrinking brain size.  The research published in the journal Neurology found the people they studied who had a high body mass index had slightly lower brain volumes and those with bigger bellies had lower amounts of gray matter in their brains.  Gray matter contains much of brain’s nerve cells and controls thing like muscles and senses.  Researchers said it’s not clear if differences in brain structure lead to obesity or if obesity cause changes in the brain.
