On Sunday a 19-year-old was arrested after shots were fired in a west side neighborhood. IMPD was called to the scene in the 7400 block of Bentley Dr. just before 6:30 p.m.  Officers were flagged down by an anonymous witnesses who described a suspect and gave the location where he attempted to hide the gun in a park.  The suspect and the gun were discoverd by police in the park. The firearm was reportedly missing its serial numbers and approximately nine shell casings. The suspect, identified as Devonte Adams, was arrested on suspicion of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, possession of a handgun and possessing of a weapon with altered/removed gun identification. Adams also had multiple outstanding warrants for carrying a handgun without a license and many other charges with warrants, such as robbery, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Monday morning started with a slow police chase. One man was arrested early Monday morning after a short chase on Indianapolis’ southeast side. A Police officer with IMPD spotted a stolen truck on I-465 near Brookville Road.  The driver drove onto I-74, the officer attempted to stop him, but he kept driving at the speed of 25 per hour on the interstate, he then stopped on the ramp to Post Road. The man was put in handcuffs and taken to the hospital to be checked out for a possible drug overdose. A woman in the truck was not hurt.

Nearly 800,000 young undocumented imigrants are waiting to see what President Trump has to say about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program or DECA. President Trump has threatened to get rid of the protection program. There may be a sixth month reprieve by sending the discussion to Congress. Trump is expected to address his thoughts about the program sometime today.
