Add an Indiana legend to the list of black women making history this week. On Sunday night, we celebrated Viola Davis and her historic lead drama win at the 67th Emmy Awards. On Monday night, the crowd roared for Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings. Catchings became the first player in ‪WNBA history to score 1000-plus points in ‪the playoffs. That is a tremendous feat.

Always a team-player, Catchings reached this history-making milestone while leading her team to a victory over the Chicago Sky 100-89 to advance from the best of three semi-finals series to the WNBA Eastern Finals. In that final match-up, Catchings finished with 27 points.

The Fever now await either New York or Washington who’re going head-to-head tonight.

So while we celebrate #WomanPower with wins for actresses Davis, Regina King, and Uzo Aduba, let’s lift up our own sisters who are doing big things on big stages a little closer to home.

Congratulations #24, Tamika Catchings!!!!
