It looks like Gracey Gealey & Trai Byers found love on set! Sorry ladies, this is a real one.
Rumors just started swirling that Byers and Gealey were an item a few months ago. Not only were the reports true, but they are much more serious than we thought!
An insider told Us Weekly that he popped the question on her 31st birthday Sunday.
“She was totally surprised and elated. She can’t stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night.”
While they have yet to confirm the news, he definitely showed her love for her special day via Instagram.
She also thanked her close ones who celebrated her birthday with her.
Byers plays Andre Lyon while Gealey’s character Anika Calhoun was engaged to Andre’s father (Lucious Lyon played by Terrence Howard) on Empire. At the end of the season she got pretty close to Andre’s younger brother Hakeem (Bryshere Gray).
Despite their awkward connection in the show, he had no problem gushing about the woman of his dreams. He told Essence back in May, ” “I work out for two reasons: one, because I’m an actor and two, because I’m somebody’s [future] husband. I want to be prepared for the woman God has for me.”
