Celebrity Big Brother - Contestants Enter The House

Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson isn’t the only one in hot water over anti-gay comments. Former boxing champ, Evander Holyfield is probably in for a beatdown due to his recent comments.

Holyfield, told a housemate on “UK Celebrity Big Brother” that being gay is no different than being handicapped because both can be fixed by a doctor.

Holyfield’s views came Sunday when reality star Luisa Zissman asked him if there were any gay boxers in the sport.

Holyfield answered and said that homosexuality is “not normal,” that it makes no difference if you’re born that way.

“If you are born, and your leg is turned this way, you go to the doctor and get it turned right back,” he said.

Miss Zissman tried to end the conversation, but Holyfield wouldn’t let it go and said that homosexuality was a “choice.”

The 51 year old Holyfield found himself in the confessional/diary room being reminded in no uncertain terms of the show’s “rules regarding unacceptable language and behavior.”

“You expressed the view that being gay was not normal and could be fixed,” a stern voice says off camera. “Whilst Big Brother realizes these are the views you hold, they are not the views held by many people in society, and expressing these views will be seen as offensive to many people.”

Holyfield explained that he’d forgotten about the rule (although Luisa did try to remind him), and was just telling her his opinion.

“Big Brother does not tolerate the use of offensive language, and must therefore warn you to consider, very carefully, the effect expressing such views may have, and the harm and offense you may cause by repeating these views inside the house,” the voice replied.

Holyfield said he understood that his comments could be considered offensive, but never apologizes.
