Back in May there was an ugly dispute that broke out between the cast of Love & Hip Hop New York and VH1 executives. According to reports, half of the cast went on strike after contract negotiations went awry and not long after, the rest of the cast joined them, dramatically storming off of the set in the middle of filming for their season four trailer. It seems that some of the cast members and the folks over at VH1 were unable to see eye-to-eye regarding compensation for the upcoming season. Others were upset over the way that they were portrayed this past season and wanted more creative control.

Immediately following the strike, word of emergency negotiation meetings between cast members and VH1 began to circulate. While not much has been revealed regarding what figures are being discussed behind closed doors, it appears that the network made nice with Yandy Smith, who recently told TMZ that all is well. Barely able to contain her smile, Yandy revealed to the cameraman that VH1 “got their money right.”

“Everything is okay [with Love & Hip Hop]. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I can speak for myself. I’m happy… very happy. You know, they got their money right. I can’t speak for everyone else, but I’m happy,” Yandy giddily expressed.

Judging by the way that she’s smiling, the money must’ve been right. If we learned nothing else about Yandy during season two of the Love & Hip Hop, we learned that she’s all about “getting checks.” Sorry for those of you who were hoping that VH1 would dump this cast and give the show a facelift with some new faces. It looks like the current cast may be here to stay for awhile.
