Kevin Ware in Indy Hospital
The Louisville basketball player who broke his leg during the NCAA tournament here in Indianapolis last night is recovering at Methodist Hospital.
Kevin Ware was trying to block a shot and when he came down, his leg collapsed, snaping apart on Live TV.
Ware underwent two hours of surgery and his bone had to be reset with a rod. Louisville went on the win the game, 85-63.
New “Michigan Left” Starts Tonight
Drivers in Fishers will get their first taste on a new traffic pattern at 96th Street and Allisonville Road.
The Michigan Left turn design opens tonight at 7 and Drivers on 96th Street will have to turn right onto Allisonville into the left lane and make a U-turn at the median signal.
The new traffic pattern will get the current three-minute wait time.
Two Men Found In Southern Indiana Reservoir
Police say the bodies of 23-year-old Matt Buroker and 22-year-old Ryan Dowdell were pulled out of Patoka Reservoir about 75 miles northeast of Evansville, yesterday afternoon.
The bodies were found using sonar and an underwater camera. The water temperature was about 45 degrees.
Authorities say they don’t know what caused the boat to capsize.
Head-On Weekend Crash in Shelby County
Police are investigating a head-on crash on State Road 44 Shelby County.
Authorities said one of the vehicles, a 1997 Buick, was traveling eastbound when it drove across the center line and into the westbound lane.
A 2010 Dodge van traveling westbound in the other lane was unable to avoid striking the Buick.
The two drivers and a passenger are all in stable condition.
Avon Mom Found Dead In School Parking Lot
Officials with the Avon Police Department said that a missing mother has been found dead.
Saturday Mornign, A concered citizen found Kanette Jackson dead in an elementary school parking lot in Brownsburg.
The mother of four was last seen late Tuesday evening.
Officials are investigating the case as a death investigation.
Hoosier Lotto Hours Expand
The Hoosier Lottery is expanding lottery ticket hours. Terminals at convenience stores and other outlets are typically closed from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., but will now only be closed from 2 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Lottery officials tell the “Indianapolis Star,” the expanded hours are a result of a new computer system provided by the company that took over the lottery’s day to day operations. The company is contractually required to boost lottery revenue by about 500-million-dollars over the next five-years.
Measles Reported at Bloomington Hospital
Indiana University has a confirmed case of the measles. Officials say the student does not live on campus and didn’t attend classes while infectious. However, a small number of people may have been infected while the student was at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital emergency room and CVS Pharmacy on College Avenue.
