TV One will premiere “Django Unchained: The TV One Special,” billed as an hour-long look at the making of Quentin Tarantino’s film, in theaters Christmas Day.

Foxx stars in the title role as a slave who joins with a bounty hunter (Cristolph Waltz) to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Hosted by Cathy Hughes, the special will feature cast members Foxx, Waltz, Washington, DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Don Johnson; writer/director Quentin Tarrantino and producer Reginald Hudlin.

“The special will focus on the historical perspective, main characters of the film and the anticipated impact it could have on the African American community,” TV One states.

“Django Unchained: The TV One Special” premieres at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 and encores on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. ET.
