This poem was passed to me from a listener who’s father wrote this back in 1996. He passed away in 2005. But this poem seems to be ahead of its time with what’s goin on today. Check this out;

Our Politicians jaw and jaw

Saying each has the perfect plan,

That if elected President,

Would rid this troubled land

From energy crisis,lack of oil,

Put an end to the cities pollution,

On and on they jaw and jaw,

Saying each has the perfect solution

They will balance the budget, stop the terrorists, clothe and feed the hungry and poor,

So on and on they jaw and jaw and promise more and more.

They will reduce our taxes,

Now that’s for sure,

Put an end to the nuclear race, then wholeheartedly direct their attention,

upon the development of outer space.

The day has arrived, it’s now time for you to step into the voting booth.

In the back of your mind you try to sort out the fiction from the truth.

You grasp the lever with your hand and give a mighty pull!

Wondering, was it the donkey or the elephant, who’s been shooting all this bull?
