Guess who has a clothing line in Wal-Mart? Tina Knowles. She is taking her Dereon fashion for plus-sized ladies to America’s favorite discount store. It’s a 30-piece collection that includes suits and sizes 2 to 20. Most items are under $20.
“My frustration in shopping was always trying to find sizes,” Knowles tells StyleList. “We can use different-sized fit models and create things that fit a range of sizes. Whether you’re a size 2 or a 22, you deserve good fashion.”
Knowles is visiting Wal-Mart stores across the nation, showing off her new line. She and her daughter Beyonce started off in Houston and sold most of the items.
“Almost 750 women showed up and we sold about 90 percent of the stock,” Knowles shares. “It was fun – we dressed a woman from the audience who was a size 20 and she was beautiful.”
She was in Atlanta this past weekend and is scheduled to visit Phoenix, Dallas, and three stores in California in the coming weeks.
