His name may not be on the Brooklyn subway station where the video for his hit single “Bad” was filmed, but a Michael Jackson memorial will be placed in the historic location, thanks to a loophole.

Following Jackson’s death in June, City Councilwoman Letitia James proposed renaming the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station after the King of Pop, but her efforts were shut down after MTA cited its policy of not naming stations after people.

The Village Voice is reporting that the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership found a way around the restriction. A memorial mural is now set for the H-S station entrance and will be displayed on private property adjacent to what the MTA owns.

Benenson Capital, who owns the wall where the mural will be painted, will chose the artist, a process that has not yet begun, the Village Voice reported.
