Kanye West has an apology for Taylor Swift, and if that’s not enough, he’s got a song for her too.  The controversial hip-hop star took to his Twitter page early Saturday morning to get a few things off his chest, starting with his much vilified interruption of the country singer’s acceptance speech at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards.  In his message, Kanye wrote, “I’m sorry Taylor.  We’re both artists, and the media and managers are trying to get between us.  She deserves the apology more than anyone.”  West infamously stormed the stage at last year’s VMA awards to say that the award presented to the first-time VMA winner should have gone to pop superstar Beyonce.  In his Twitter apology, West also said he had written a song for Swift and offered to perform it for her.  His message comes just one week before his scheduled performance at next Sunday’s VMAs.

Kanye’s Twitter apology also included a few jabs at the media which he accused of playing the race card and encouraging the public backlash against him.  He suggested that the media was trying to get back at him for his infamous declaration that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” made during an NBC telethon for Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  West wrote, quote, “The media has successfully diminished the ‘receptive’ audience of… KANYE WEST…taking a 15 second blip the media have successfully painted the image of the ‘ANGRY BLACK MAN.’ The King Kong theory.  With the help of strong will, a lack of empathy, a lil alcohol and extremely distasteful & bad timing… I became George Bush over night.”

Kanye says he took a long hard look at himself after the VMA fiasco and told himself to “grow up.”  He writes, “I take responsibility for my actions.  Yes I was that guy.  A 32 year old child.  With new found humility… who am I to run on stage?  I would never again in a million years do that.  Sorry to let you down.”
