Step 1

Let go of old grudges and blame. These feelings can follow us throughout our lives and can have a negative impact on our thoughts, health and our bodies. Try acknowledging the pain that you feel, let it go and move on.

  • Step 2

    Take a nice, hot shower or bath. Install a special shower head that has a massage option for extra relaxation in the shower. When you feel stressed, having warm water massage and relax your tense muscles will help calm you down and make you loosen up.

  • Step 3

    Try exercising. Go for a long walk on the beach or in your neighborhood. Exercising lets us let out our stress. When you finish your activity, you will feel a sense of relaxation. Try jogging, walking, dancing, swimming or any other recreational sport that you enjoy.

  • Step 4

    Talk things out with a friend or a family member. Sometimes we hold our pain and stress inside, and it can make us become more tense. By talking it out with someone you trust, you will be able to loosen up and perhaps see things with a new perspective.

  • Step 5

    Make an appointment with a professional. If you find that you are always tense and feeling unhappy or stressed, then it might help you to release your feelings with a therapist or counselor.
