So So Def All-Star 20th Anniversary Concert

Jermaine Dupri has been in the news lately regarding the cancellation of this So So Def 25th Anniversary Tour that everyone was excited about.  Now, he’s in the hot seat for putting on a week’s worth of free events leading-up to the big game this weekend with the Patriots and Rams.

He thought it would be a great place to give mothers of police brutality victims a platform to speak onstage, but then was blasted, being called a “sell-out” for choosing to be part of football’s biggest night.  The Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance Bottoms, spoke to Essence.com and stated:

As an African American woman, I certainly understand where we are as a country and I have a great deal of respect for what [Kaepernick] has done and the personal sacrifice he’s made to take a stance,” the 60th Mayor of Atlanta told ESSENCE.
