Louisville city officials are renaming their airport after boxing great Muhammad Ali. The Louisville Regional Airport Authority board voted Wednesday to change the name to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The Kentucky city on the border with Indiana was Ali’s hometown. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said that Ali belonged to the world, but he only had one hometown. Ali died in 2016. Thursday would be his 77th birthday.
