Tyrese Gibson is no stranger to the big screen and now he is expanding his talent to the television screen, as he just booked a recurring in the Fox series Star, which is created/executive produced by Lee Daniels.
The show is set in Atlanta and revolves around three talented young singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) as they learn about the cut-throat music business on their road to success.
Tyrese’s role is actually opposite of actress Queen Latifah, as he will play a handsome ex-thug turned pastor name Bobby Harris, who presides over Carlotta’s (Latifah) congregation. In fact, TV Line, reports the two characters will form a romantic relationship.
Beyond Tyrese and Queen Latifah, the cast includes names like Benjamin Bratt and Nicholas Gonzalez. Not to mention, Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz, who is expected to guest star on the show.
