If this is your first time frying a turkey for Thanksgiving, here’s some advice.

In California, firefighters are showing U.S. Marines how to avoid a kitchen fire this Thanksgiving.  A group from the Miramar Fire Department stopped by the Marine Cops Air Station to raise awareness of safe cooking ahead of the holiday season.  The demonstration turned very visual, when the crew intentionally dropped an ice-cold turkey into an overfilled fryer, making it catch on fire.  They even set up a mannequin right next to the pot to show how badly a person can get burned if a turkey is cooked improperly.  Once the almost-frozen turkey was dropped into the fire, flames shot within seconds, searing the mannequin in the process.
