The Indiana University community is greatly saddened by the passing of Indiana community leader and longtime radio host Amos Brown. He was a strong voice of support for the African-American community in Indianapolis, and his all-too-sudden death will leave a great void in the city and beyond.

“On behalf of Indiana University, I extend my most sincere and heartfelt sympathies to Amos Brown’s family, friends and loved ones,” said Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie. “Amos pushed all of us, IU included, to meet the challenges of creating a more just and diverse state head-on, and at the same time his consistent support of Indiana University was always appreciated.”

“Amos had a deep passion for advocacy and a strong commitment to serious journalism,” added James Wimbush, vice president for diversity, equity and multicultural affairs. “He touched many lives across the state and beyond, and his leadership and unwavering commitment to equality will be greatly missed by all.”

All our best in this difficult time,

Mark
