After Viola Davis become the first African-American woman to become the recipient of the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress, Taraji P. Henson expressed her thoughts on not winning.
Taraji even admitted that it would have been a little weird if she had won an Emmy over Viola.
“Viola deserved that award. And honestly it would have felt weird if I had gotten it over her. … She’s been doing it longer. You’ve just got to give respect and know when your time is.”
