The youngest daughter of B.B. King says her dad’s memorial service is now scheduled this Saturday, May 23 in Las Vegas. Claudette King made the announcement on her Facebook page on Saturday that there would also be a public visitation on Friday. Click HERE for details on the arrangements. Tributes have poured in from around the world following the death last Thursday night of the legendary blues musician and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Here in Indy, people are remembering B.B. King who strummed his famous guitar “Lucille” with loving expertise. I sat down with Indianapolis blues expert and former radio and record executive, Lonnell “King Ro” Conley on “Access Indy” to discuss B.B. King’s life, legacy and music that he loved.

Click the media player below to listen to our conversation and some of the music that made B.B. King the “King of the Blues.”

B.B. King, the 15-time Grammy Award winner and Mississippi native, died after a lengthy illness at the age of 89. According to his attorney, as reported by USA Today, King wanted his funeral at a church in Indianola, Mississippi nearby where he picked cotton as a child. Those arrangements are still pending.
