Funnyman Cedric the Entertainer is getting serious for a moment, encouraging diabetic patients to learn more about a side complication of diabetes affecting millions of Americans – his own father among them.
Cedric is helping to spread the word about treatments for diabetic nerve pain through a new program called “Step On Up.” Dr. Ann Peters, who is working with Cedric on the awareness campaign, says the condition can be debilitating for sufferers but it is treatable and preventable through diet and medication. Cedric says his dad is managing his condition very well thanks to early detection.
