Pat Houston is having a hard time with making moves to keep Whitney Houston’s memory alive more than two years after the diva’s death.
Whitney’s sister-in-law will give an update on the family on tomorrow’s episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?,” airing Sunday at 9 p.m. Off top, she wanted to make it clear that the Houstons are still not here for Bobbi Kristina’s relationship with Nick Gordon. Ever since the family welcomed cameras into their lives for “The Houstons: On Our Own,” they have not hidden how they really feel about Bobbi getting involved with the man who was essentially raised as her brother.
“We weren’t happy about it. Not at all,” Pat said of Bobbi’s relationship. Bobbi and Nick have gotten married, so he won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Have the Houstons made peace with the situation? You’ll find out tomorrow.
In the meantime, Pat is trying her best to focus on the release of the Whitney Houston Live album. Having worked with Whitney for years, it’s been a little weird for her to work out the details of a release without the singer right there.
“It’s very difficult doing a project without her being involved because you are so used to going to a meeting, and her and Clive are sitting there going over music,” she told OWN. According to Pat, Whitney was very hands-on when it came to her music, which was one of the great loves of her life.
“Whitney’s legacy is definitely her music,” Pat added. “From [being] a young girl singing in the basement with a broomstick to performing on stages all over the world, she knew that that was what he calling was.”
Still, she’s confident that Whitney’s loyals will find something special in what the album has to offer. “She loved performing live,” sad Pat. “So if you are Whitney fan, and you loved her live performances, you will love this.”
