Announced today, on Veterans Day of 2014, was the Navy’s first female four-star Admiral. Michelle Howard has made history and this is not the first time she’s done so. Before her promotion she was the vice Admiral and just before she was also the first African American woman to serve as a three-star officer in the U.S. military and command a U.S. Navy ship.
Michelle Howard was also a recipient of the NCAAP Image award last year. During her promotion ceremony she gave a speech that involved saluting our nation’s service members.
HAPPY VETERANS DAY!
