The Queen Of Soul Aretha Franklin’s next album will arrive at the end of the month. A rep for Clive Davis, who is the executive producer on the project, tells Billboard.com the disc will be available on September 30th. Showbiz411.com first broke the news of the legendary Queen of Soul’s release, which has been timed to make sure it’s eligible for Grammy consideration. Aretha expected to officially introduce the project with an appearance on CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” on September 29th. She’ll reportedly perform her rendition of Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep” — the album’s first single — on the show. Aretha is also scheduled for NBC’s “Today” on October 3rd, and she’ll join Clive Davis for a special Q-and-A session at the 92nd Street Y in New York on October 1st.

The album, which has a tentative title of “Aretha Franklin Sings Songs of the Great Divas,” features Franklin reinventing classic songs she’s always loved and wanted to record. In addition to the Adele hit, Aretha’s versions of Gladys Knight and the Pips’ “Midnight Train to Georgia,” Etta James’ “At Last,” Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” and Barbra Streisand’s “People” are said to be some of the other tracks on the album. “Great Divas” will be her first studio release since 2011’s “Aretha: A Woman Falling Out Of Love.”
