Patti LaBelle has signed on for the next installment of “American Horror Story.” HollywoodReporter.com says the fourth season of the FX series is subtitled “Freak Show,” and is set in the 1950s in Jupiter, Florida. Actress Jessica Lange stars as the manager of one of the last freak shows in the U.S. LaBelle will be featured in four episodes. The R&B star will play the part of a local resident — and the mom of returning star Gabourey Sidibe’s character — who starts to uncover Twisty the clown killer’s secrets. LaBelle does not sing on the show. The season four premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but “AHS: Freak Show” is slated to return to FX in October.

LaBelle is the second singer to be featured on “American Horror Story.” Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks portrayed herself in a two-episode run during season three, “AHS: Coven.”
