Oprah has proved she was just as classy and foxy 30 years ago as she is today! The queen of talk’s OWN team released video footage via YouTube of her audition tape from waaayyy back in 1983. She was auditioning for the morning show in Chicago which led to her becoming the icon she is today. Anyone watching the tape can tell Oprah knew she was going to be a superstar.She introduced herself in the vintage video and said, ” Hi, there. My name is Oprah Winfrey. Oprah, spelled O-P-R-A-H, and if you notice, it’s Harpo spelled backwards. “My folks did not really like Harpo Marks. We did not even have a television set for a number of years. Originally, I was named from the Bible by Aunt Ida, who named me from Ruth, the first chapter at the fourteenth verse, Orpah, but no one knew how to spell in my home, and that’s why I ended up being Oprah.” While she said she doesn’t know how she got the job, The Oprah Winfrey Show went on to be extremely successful for the next 25 years and housed some of the most infamous interviews to date, making The Butler actress a household name.She  launched the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) in 2011 and has also won 47 Emmys, not to mention her  successful magazine, O.  She also showed clips of her former gig in Baltimore in 1978. She added that she heard about the opening for the morning show in Chicago and put together her tape in one night. Check it out!
