Rain, rain, go away…the rain should be out of here by at least 1pm today, but the cold is here to stay.  What a perfect time to get the family ready for this frightening season.  Check out some of the events below if the family is looking for coats for the kids or where to go to get scared this weekend.

  • If you don’t have the means to purchase a new coat for your kids this year, check out Bob Gregory’s Coats for Kids Charity event at the State Fairgrounds inside the Horticulture building.  It’s open now until 2pm, admission is free and you must have the child with you to receive a coat.   • Inside the Marsh Pavillion at the State Fairgrounds check out Indy Family Fest from 9a-4p.  Admission is only $5 and they family can have fun and stay both warm and dry at the same time.  See http://www.indyfamilyfest.com/
  • Time Warp is back at the Haunted House located inside the Childrens Museum.  It’s the 50th Anniversary of this haunted house and times vary for the smaller kids to the big kids who like to be scared.  See their website for more details http://www.childrensmuseum.org/hauntedhouse
  • “Winnie the Pooh” is at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre now until Nov. 9th.  The show is only one hour without intermission and show times vary by date.  Take the kids to the theatre and let them experience something different.  For showtimes see http://www.beefandboards.com/
  • Visit Beasley’s Orchard in Danville for their Corn Maze….ok its a four mile corn maze loaded with tons of fun for ages 6-11.  Discounts are available for groups, see http://www.beasleys-orchard.com/
