A Lawrence Central student has been hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt at school.
A female freshman student was given medical attention at the school before being transported to the hospital.
The student’s condition is not known at this time.
UPDATE:
Lawrence Township Schools released the following statement,
“It is with deep sadness that I am letting the Lawrence Central Family know that the student who attempted suicide earlier today was pronounced dead early this afternoon. We will have counseling services available to any student who needs support during this very difficult time. Counselors will be available at school this afternoon and again on Saturday and Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the School Commons. We are all devastated by the events of the day. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.”
