Shot In The Arm  

 

There are several vaccines available for flu season this year.  The new high-dose medicines have four times the antigens found in regular vaccines and protect against three of four influenza viruses.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports everyone over six months should get a shot.

Teen Accused Of Murder  

 

A teenage boy is accused of murder and carrying a gun without a license.  Detectives in Indianapolis arrested the unidentified 16-year-old for killing Darren Kirk on Tuxedo Street in September.  He was charged at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.  

 

Circle City Classic Praises Tonight

The Circle City Classic Prayer & Praise Worship Service, one of the 30th Anniversary Classic kick-off events, is tonight at Eastern Star Church’s Northwest campus located at 5805 Cooper Road. Dr. Maurice Watson is the guest psalmist and gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell along with the 200-plus Classic Ecumenical Choir will join host, Pastor Jeffrey Johnson Senior. This is a free event and is open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the service begins at 7 p.m.

 

 

Indianapolis Named Super Bowl Finalist  

 

Indianapolis is one of the top three finalists to host the 2018 Super Bowl.  New Orleans and Minneapolis also made the cut and have been invited to submit a formal bid for the big game.  The host committee says they will highlight that Indianapolis is family friendly and there is something for everyone to enjoy. According to media reports, corporate sponsors are lining up to help because the last time was a win-win.

 

 

Scientists Accused Of Selling Trade Secrets  

 

Two former employees at Eli Lilly are accused of stealing secret research data and selling the information to a Chinese company.  Investigators say the scientists cost the company 55-million-dollars.  They are being held without bond until their trial because they are considered a flight risk.
