Rain, rain go away….it may be raining but it is very warm outside.  Fall break has started for a lot of kids this weekend and parents let em out the house and into some of the events listed below:

  • It’s that time for the 44th Annual Riley Festival in downtown Greenfield with hundreds of booths, food live entertainment and more.  It all kicked off at 9am and last until 9pm tonight and from 11a-5p on Sunday.  Visit their website for more information at http://www.rileyfestival.org/

  • The Heartland Apple Festival is this weekend at Beasley’s Orchard in Danville.  It’s a 4 day event with arts and crafts, live music caramel apples, kids zone and much more.  It started at 9am and will run through Sunday at 9pm.  See their website at http://www.beasleys-orchard.com/

  • Hamilton County is alive today with the Fishers Renaissance Faire at Saxony.  There’ll be full contact jousting, sword play, dancing, costume characters and more going on now until 6pm and tomorrow from 10a-6p.  For more information see http://www.fishersrenfaire.com/
  • The government shut down so the Childrens Musuem of Indianapolis has FREE ADMISSION for Federal Employees.  Also for active duty enlisted military personnel now through Sunday.  See their website for more information at http://bit.ly/GBgSad
  • It’s Pumpkin Festival time so there’s a lot of festivals like the one at Stonycreek Farm in Hamilton County.  Visit their haunted house, farm animals, pumpkin train, maze and more including food.  It’s open daily from 10a-5p, see their website for more information at http://www.stonycreekfarm.net/
  • Want more hayrides but don’t live close to Stonycreek, check out the Pumpkin Patch at Piney Acres  Farm in Hancock County.  You can also check out their games, gem mining, corn maze, and more.  Going on now  until Oct. 31st, see their website for times at http://pineyacresfarm.com/
  • Support your central Indiana breast cancer survivors by attending the Stars of Pink Breast Cancer Survivor Fashion Show at the Marriott Hotel downtown.  It starts at 10:30a and runs until 1:30p.  Tickets are $75 and you can help a local family with the resources they need to help them through.  For more information visit http://www.pinkribbonconnection.org/
