R&B singer D’Angelo has cancelled five dates since last weekend “due to a medical emergency.”
He’s missed shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Diego, New York and Maryland.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Live Nation stated the cancellations were due to an unspecified medical emergency.
An agent for D’Angelo confirmed by saying, “It’s serious, but he’ll be OK,”
D’Angelo was reportedly in the hospital when he cancelled his show in Maryland last weekend.
The singer has been touring heavily after a reclusive period during which he rarely performed live.
Earlier this year D’Angelo was reportedly close to completing his first new album since 2000′s “Voodoo.”
