THE COURSE

The course starts on Washington Street and runners will head west over and alongside the White River.

Runners will then wind back through Speedway across White River Parkway to New York Street and the finish line.

The post-race party will take place at Military Park immediately after the race. If you have questions about the Mini Marathon or 5K during the event, find a person in the neon “Ask Me” shirts.

ROAD CLOSURES

There are several road closures throughout the area due to the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon.

Parts of Washington, West, New York and Blackford Streets will be closed.

Throughout the morning all roads involved in the race or post-race party will be closed until around 9 a.m.

Other Downtown streets near the starting line may be closed at police discretion for public safety from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m.

EXTRA SECURITY

The One America 500 Festival Mini Marathon bag is part of a new push to step up security at this year’s race.

The bag, or something similar to it, will be the only items allowed at the race. Additionally, there will be more security officers on duty  than in years past.

The Indianapolis Division of Homeland Security says that several mobile cameras will be positioned downtown for the race.

Police officials say if you  see something suspicious, speak up. Anyone who sees something suspicious is asked to report it by alerting an officer nearby by or by calling the tip line at 877-226-1026.
