Another murder in our city. Today at around 8am officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 3300 block of Babette Court. Dispatchers with the 911 call center advised responding officers that a female had been on the telephone with her husband as he was backing out of the driveway to leave for work. The female caller said she heard a third person in the background, then the call was disconnected. Believing her husband was in distress she called 911. When officers arrived at the location, they found an unresponsive white male in the cab of his truck suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. A short time later he was pronounced dead by responding medics. Although the victim’s wife has been notified, his identity will be withheld so that immediate family members may be notified.

Investigators with IMPD’s Homicide Unit and representatives from the Marion County Crime Lab are processing and reviewing the scene for possible evidence.
