Since you know this person well, you’ll have lots of clues about what to give him this Christmas. You can directly ask him what he wants for Christmas, but usually guys don’t have an answer to that so it really depends on your take.

Listen and observe
You’ve probably gone to the mall with him many times this year. Is there a time when he randomly mentioned something that he wanted or found nice while going through the stores? It may be a pair of shoes or something simple like the new CD of his favorite band. Surprising him with something he wants will mean a lot to him.

Men don’t go out shopping as much as women. If men do, they usually just buy the one thing that they came to the store for, and it’s usually something they need to use. Men are generally practical – they like gifts that they can actually use and not something they can put on display. Get him a couple of classic ties, a pair of socks, a new wallet or the like.
