TJMS PICK

“Paperboy”

Lee Daniels direct yet another controversial story about a group of low-rent characters set in 1969 Florida. Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron play brothers Ward and Jack Jensen, who are roped into investigating the wrongful conviction of Charlotte Bless’ (Nicole Kidman) incarcerated fiancé. Kidman apparently uses her sexual wiles to keep everyone in line and things go predictably bad. If you thought Daniels was too into black pathology in “Precious” reviewers, mostly mixed on the movie, said this one gives white pathology equal time.
