After he appeared in court for the first time in a year yesterday, a judge still wants to see if Chris Brown violated  his probation and community service ordered after the 2009 beating of then girlfriend Rihanna.

Supreme Court Judge Patricia Schnegg is still trying to sort through documents and a failed marijuana test during a random drug screening (he provided a medical marijuana prescription from California).

Even though documents sent by Richmond, VA chief states Chris Brown completed more than 1,400 hours of community service, the judge ruled his records as “somewhat cryptic” and will need more info.

During his brief statement yesterday, Brown said he didn’t sign in at his community service activities (including trash pick up and removing graffiti) because he didn’t have to.

Black America Web reports:

[The judge] warned Brown that while his marijuana use may have been legal, he needed to be mindful of his public image and his sway with young fans.

“You are not an average person who can sit in their living room and do what you want to do,” Schnegg said, noting that Brown’s mother was sitting in the audience of the courtroom. “You are not only in the public eye, but you are on probation.”

Schnegg urged him to be careful going forward.

Rihanna tweeted yesterday before his hearing:

I’ll keep my thoughts to myself on that one…What do you guys think?
