While some of America tried to overshadow Gabby Douglas’ history-making win by dissing her hair or digging up her mother’s bankruptcy, celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson decided to treat Gabby with a hair makeover.
Gabby let America know we might as well get used to her hair, but what teen could turn a new hairstyle? Especially by one who has combed the tresses of Gabrielle Union and Angelina Jolie as well as being featured in magazines like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.

“It’s tricky because Gabby is 16 and I don’t want to do anything to make her look 25 years old. Together with her vision, I hope we can create something that’s easy and looks great no matter what she’s doing or where she is,” he told The Daily Beast. “I hope to create something that makes her feel good about herself as well. That’s so important and a big part of what I do for all the women I work with.”
Soo nice! And Gabby loved her hairstyle too!

Like us, Gibson didn’t appreciate the harsh and cruel comments made about her hair.
“I couldn’t believe it and still can’t,’’ he said. “You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful.
