step 1

No one wants to get rejected or go out on a limb if you’re not sure he likes you. These tips will help you feel confident in asking a guy out, because they minimize embarrassment if it turns out he’s not interested. This way, you have nothing to lose, so go for it!

  • Step 2

Invite him to a low-key group activity. Say you and a bunch of friends are going to a movie, or out to a bar. Just say something like, ” A bunch of us are going to (insert name of bar) Friday night…wanna come along?” It’s way more casual than asking him to a one-on-one date but still conveys that you like him.

  • Step 3

If you just met a guy at a bar or party and decide you want to see him again, say, ” I’m taking off, but it was great meeting you. Here’s my number if you want to give me a call” then pass him your number. Since you’re on your way out the door, it minimizes awkwardness.

  • Step 4

If you’re having a conversation about something such as the fact that you’re moving, and he mentions some great movers that he’s used in the past, right before you leave, ask him for his email so you can get the info about the movers. After you’ve taken his advice, email and let him know how well it went and offer to take him out for coffee or buy him a drink for helping you out.

  • Step 5

Wait for an opportunity to arise. If the conversation turns to football, mention a cool sports bar you’ve been to, and say, “maybe we should go sometime”. If he wants to, he’ll follow up on your lead, but there’s no pressure for him to make a decision right then and there.
