Many of us start thinking about making changes to our lives when preparing for the New Year. The thought of January 1 brings out the drive and energy needed to make significant changes. This is certainly true with relationships.
Realistically, make a list of what you want in a significant other and how you’re going to make it happen – which will serve as your general guidelines for the year. Some things to think about:
1. Figure out what type of relationship you want. Are you ready to get married to your true love? Do you simply want a companion?
2. Plan to get out and meet new people by registering for a class or a special group that you’re interested in doing.
3. Be happy with yourself and don’t be jealous. So you have friends in relationships – that doesn’t mean they’re happy. Keep your head up and focus on all of the positive things in your life.
Now that you have the list – stick to it. Being single in the New Year brings several exciting possibilities! Get out there and meet new people. Your future significant other might just be there!
