For me, I love women who enjoy watching sports with me. It’s so sexy.

However, fellas, sometimes we need to help our woman get into and even understand sports. Here’s some tips on how to turn sports time into quality time.

1. Choose a spot where your woman will be comfortable. Instead of watching the game in a crowded, loud bar, watch the game at home. Invite a few friends over (not the guys who spill beer all over the carpet) or even just make it the two of you. If it’s the two of you, get creative with romantic gestures such as a kiss every time your team scores. And you’ll always have halftime to get really creative.

2. Help her understand the game. Explain the strategy of the game to her so she understands what’s happening. It’s no fun for her when she doesn’t understand what’s happening. If she asks questions, answer them and don’t get frustrated. She really wants to understand. Be patient.

3. After you watch the game together, try playing together. Go to the backyard and throw the football back and forth. Teach her some of the plays but don’t be really competitive. Make it fun and crack some jokes.

4. Give her some team attire. Buy her flattering attire with your favorite team’s logo and possibly your last name on it. Encourage her to wear what you bought her and shower her with compliments: “My wife looks HOT in green, doesn’t she?” or “You look incredibly attractive in that jersey.”

5. Don’t overdo it. You love sports and are probably excited to share this passion with her, but understand that her level of enthusiasm may never quite match yours. Recognize that her attempt to be interested and watch a game with you doesn’t mean she wants to watch every game in the season. Start slowly. Even though this may be difficult for you, she’ll probably be more willing to watch sports if it isn’t something you try to get her to do every day.
