Get enough sleep! 7-9 hours is the optimum number for adults. Being well rested will help you wake up less irritated. If you are hitting the snooze button every morning, it is a sign you are getting up too early. Either set your alarm for the actual time you get up or go to bed earlier at night so you can wake up the first time the alarm goes off.

Lay out clothes the night before.

Lay out clothes the night before.

Set out everything you are going to need in the morning the night before. Lay out your clothes, gather up anything you need for work, find your keys, etc. This will prevent you from being stressed by thinking of everything you need to gather up as soon as you get out of bed.

  • Step 3

    Mmm . . . coffee!

    Mmm . . . coffee!

Set your coffee machine to brew ten minutes before your alarm goes off. The smell of coffee will raise you out of bed with a smile, thinking about how good that first cup is going to taste. If your really lucky the aroma will get you out of bed before you have to hear the jarring alarm.

  • Step 4

    Be excited about your day!

Be excited about your life and day. Always try to schedule something in your day to look forward to and be excited about. It can be anything from window shopping, to visiting a favorite friend to going to Vegas. Whatever floats your boat.
