1. Start With Short Term Plans. Instead of setting a goal that is as never ending a spool of thread, start with a short-term goal that is easier to mentally achieve. Once you meet a short-term goal it will inspire you to make it a long-term commitment. Like going to the gym to loose weight and get into shape. Instead of setting your resolution to loose 15 pounds, make it your resolution to join the gym and just go.

2. Set Yourself Up To Succeed, Not Fail. Make your goals realistic. You want to taste success in the opening of the year and give yourself a good base to grow from. If you can achieve one tiny goal you wont believe what that will do to you mentally to achieve harder long-term goals. A small bout of success can leap frog you into an abundance of success. So start easy and let yourself taste how great achieving your goals can be.

3. Keep a positive outlook. The power of positive is so strong that it can literally be life changing. It is as simple as, “What the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve” This is absolutely true. If you feel you can do it, you will do it. On the other hand, if you go into the New Year with the same old, “well I’m going to try” attitude, you will end up with no accomplishments. Be positive, and never underestimate yourself. You have the power to be and do what ever it is you want, don’t let you hold yourself back.

4. Be Your Own Cheerleader. If you don’t cheer for yourself no one else will. Be your own best friend and motivator. Build yourself up and tell yourself you can do it. Place the bet on yourself and reap the rewards of the payout. You have to be able to recognize your potential and rally in your ability to pump yourself up. Even if it’s forth and ten, you have to stand tall and cheer yourself on into the winning touchdown.
