Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace London welcomed Flipper’s friends and community to celebrate Flipper’s co-founder, Liberty Ross’ birthday. Naomi Campbell, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Sasha Baron Cohen, Charlotte Tilbury and more were in attendance for the joyous occasion. The evening was hosted by Glitterbox, the label’s highly anticipated debut at Flipper’s London for its final London show of 2023.
Marking the label’s final London show of 2023, Glitterbox and its unique crew of performers hosted an evening of disco drama on wheels – uniting two subcultures of dancers and skaters under one roof at the recently launched London hotspot, widely known as Flipper’s.
Founded in 1979, Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace was the stuff of Hollywood legend, hosting the likes of Prince, Elton John, Cher, and Nile Rodgers to its skate-led disco wonderland. Donned ‘Studio 54 on wheels’ and now led by Liberty Ross, the daughter of original founder Ian ‘Flipper’ Ross, Flipper’s was and still is to this day a treasured destination dedicated to the art of skating and its inclusive roots.
A slice of Hollywood history nestled in London’s White City, the venue adorned with archive photography from its heyday, welcomed Glitterbox through its doors for the very first time, bringing with it Glitterbox’s exuberant crew of performers and world-class DJs. Powering the dancefloor with an exuberant crew of performers were world-class DJs The Shapeshifters, John Morales, Minna, Kenny Dope, and Luke Solomon with the help of the venue’s state-of-the-art sound system.
Bringing its brand ethos of ‘less scroll, more roll’ to Glitterbox’s incomparably uplifting dancefloor, Glitterbox and Flipper’s welcomed all to lose their inhibitions for a joint celebration of community and feel-good, high-energy house and disco. Expect unforgettable moments at this Autumn’s coming together of two nightlife phenomena whose shared values of self-expression and freedom on the dancefloor is certain to make this party one for the books.
